Case Study: Shake, Rattle & Roll Dueling Pianos
Shake, Rattle & Roll Dueling Pianos is the northeast’s premier dueling pianos show. Every Saturday night from their perch in Times Square, the musicians of this decade-running show play an hourslong, all-request set of rock and pop classics to a rowdy crowd of New Yorkers. They drink, they dance, and they sing at the top of their lungs.
What We Did
We originally met with the owners of Shake Rattle & Roll to build out a new website, a transition from a self-hosted platform. We worked with them to discuss the business goals and KPIs for the site as well as to learn about their visitors and what they were looking for. In the end, we developed an entirely new online identity, complete with logos, a new design and typography system. We built an altogether new website on WordPress, hosted and maintained on our servers.
And things were good. They enjoyed a top-3 name recognition on google search engine results pages (SERPs), and were able to convert significant visitor traffic to sales at their offsite ticket sales vendor.
In 2020 we discussed a possible redesign as well as the installation of a shopping cart. However, seeing the flexibility of the underlying theme and the new availability of recently developed photo and video assets, we recommended a design refresh instead. This way we were able to modify the existing structure with the new assets, while showing significant savings and optimizing for SEO.
We also installed a shopping experience via WooCommerce. This allowed the client to own all the steps of the transaction without having to hand over a percentage of ticket sales to the ticket seller. Recently the client called to report we had also achieved a standing goal: the coveted top spot in Google Search results!
